Canoeists in Scotland have traditionally enjoyed a freedom of access to Scotland’s rivers and lochs.
From spring 2005 the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 provides a statutory right of access to most land and inland water. Scotland now has a framework for access which is amongst the best in Europe.
