Access Situation Today

Welcome to the Rivers Access Campaign
FACT: Only 2% of rivers in England and Wales have access rights to the public

Restricted access to water is a problem for us all, not just canoeists.  Swimmers, boaters, gorge walkers, rowers and anyone wishing to participate in watersport are restricted to using rivers that have undisputed access or where restrictive permission has been granted.

This means that we have no access to 98% of rivers in England and Wales.

We have been given the RIGHT TO ROAM But not
PERMISSION TO PADDLE!

The Rivers Access Campaign's aim is that there should be a public right of access along our inland waters.. so we can all enjoy our natural heritage...rights with responsibilities
